UPRERA Step against Builders Register 900 Complaints, 600 of them on GB Nagar

Mr. Mukul Singhal, chairman of RERA in Uttar Pradesh, who is also the principle secretary of Housing and urban planning in UP said that the authority has received 900 complaints of which 600 are related to GB Nagar. While pacifying the consumers singhal said redress of complaints has started from November 13 and each complaint must be resolved within a month and a half.

Singhal was in Noida on Tuesday to meet officials of the three development authorities of GB Nagar including Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway besides members of credai and representatives of homebuyers associations. Further he said that nodal officers have been designated in each development authority. “These officials have been tasked with drawing up the details of all registered projects in their respective areas. If any builder has provided a date of completion of a project as an extended one or there is inconsistency in the declaration, notices will be issued to the developer. If we receive complaints about any completion certificates issued before the project is complete, just so the project is out of the ambit of RERA, we will take cognizance”; Singhal promised.

While discussing on “Agreement to sale” to be done with homebuyer, the draft provision including within the purview of the Real Estate (regulation and development) Act, 2016, which are until now dusky in the provisions of the Act. The draft is almost final and we will now forward it to the state government and cabinet for approval and notification. Moreover as per provision of agreement to sale, registration of property will be done on carpet area and not super area. After this no developer will able to trick homebuyers.
