Pinched homebuyers who are heavy-hearted with Haryana’s Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) Act are in the intention of percolating to the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC) to protect their interests.

The homebuyers have already stowed several complaints with Haryana Government against alteration of the RERA Act, as the act was postulated to safeguard the interest of homebuyers and create transparency in the real estate sector but it all ended up keeping in mind the aid for developers.

As per the new alteration in Haryana RERA Act, the ongoing projects who have just applied for the occupation certificate will be unbound from the RERA guidelines. The homebuyers who have already invested in various ongoing real estate projects across Gurgaon are now in distress. One of a Gurgaon resident said the only bright side left is the NCRDC (Consumer Court) as the commission will not wriggle out on the basis of an occupation certificate or a completion certificate.

Few residents of Gurgaon said developers had been holding up the process of possession for years and since RERA rolled out most of the ongoing projects, the developers are free of penalty in contempt of giving a hard time to buyers.

The Central Government constituted RERA Act for the virtue of homebuyers so that transparency can be built among homebuyers and developers. The dilution of RERA Act is expected to see inflation in complaints lodged with NCDRC.
