Senior citizens want effective implementation of RERA


The news is flourished with whether the builders are providing the home to the homebuyers on time or not, whether they are complying with the rules or not, whether they are updating every information regarding their project on the public site or not. There exist a lot many homebuyers who are the senior citizens and have booked their own house through their savings instead of living with their children.

RERA’s prime motive is to protect the interest of the homebuyers therefore, measures should be taken to implement RERA effectively so that the senior citizens who put in their whole savings to book the housing unit receives the same from the builder right on time without any delay. An arbitration committee can also be set up to deal with such matters and to ensure justice to the homebuyer.

There are news of builders who have collected a big fat amount of money to book a home for such senior citizen homebuyers and have not handed them their house. Due to this conditions, many such homebuyers have died out of the tension of when will they get their home and many have fallen ill.

An attention is to be drawn for such a problem and hence few senior citizens have urged to government to take appropriate measures for the implementation of RERA which was commenced to protect the interest of the homebuyers. Old couples living alone invest their hard-earned saving towards booking a housing unit and what they get in return is delay in possession.

Recently, two builders collected approx. 7 crores from their clients who were 16 in number and made them wait for 7 long years for the possession. If the builders will not provide home to the homebuyers on time, the future projects of such homebuyers will also affect. Builders should realize that when an advance to book a house is made, it is with the hope of getting it on the time specified and the homebuyer plan their living accordingly.

Likewise, the builders need to understand the point that, senior citizens invest whatever they have saved and hence, a response towards them just like the other homebuyers is necessary.
